First Learnin’

I’ve just learned that today is Australia Day.

australia day

Turns out this crazy day happens once a year. Ever since the long long ago of the 30s, according to the Australia Day website (that’s the 1930’s, for all you millenium heads.)

“Not until 1935 did all the Australian states and territories use that name to mark that date,” they say.

There’s a whole history of the thing up there, but I really think I’ve learned enough for one day.

Instead, let’s celebrate what we love most about Australia:

Skippy... the bush... kangaroo

The only kangaroo to receive a helicopter pilot license

So in review, here’s what we learned about Australia Day.

  1. Australia Day is on January 26th.
